Medieval was the quintessential programming achievment of my earlier programming days. Full of bugs, spelling mistakes, and cliche plot, I was going to let this game fade away. My friends said differently. So, in a posthumous change of heart, here it is, in all its glory. Medieval was programmed in Visual Basic 6, before I was exposed to better things like C++, Java, and the .Net Framework languages (vb.net, C#). It was my first full game project I completed in the language, but through its issues it managed to show me that crucial link between lines of code and a real, working video game.
As for the gameplay, Medieval is an RPG where you play the role of an adventurer trying to save the land from a mysterious illness. As you progress, you learn more of your foe, and end in a climactic battle to end all battles! There are three classes (Fighter, Mage, Archer sterotypes) and enough items, enemies, and characters to hold your attention for up to an hour or more! The read-me included should be looked over prior to playing as it tells what you really need to know.
Also included is the completely awesome "More fun than a Barrel of Monkeys!" where you can click buttons to find the hidden "winner". The bug is that more than one winner is generated, so its so easy to win!
